Privacy Policy

Daily Accounting Effective Date: April 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how I, the developer of Daily Accounting, handle your information. I built this app with your privacy in mind, and I want you to feel confident about how your data is managed.

Please read this policy carefully. By downloading, installing, or using Daily Accounting, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1. Information I Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you use the App, you may enter the following types of business data:

  • Business profile information: your name, business name, phone number, address, and profile photo
  • Customer and supplier records: names, phone numbers, addresses, and profile images
  • Transaction records: cash-in and cash-out entries, amounts, descriptions, and dates
  • Product and stock data: product names, prices, stock quantities, barcodes, and images
  • Staff information: employee names, phone numbers, addresses, ID numbers, salary details, attendance records, and profile photos
  • Notes: text content, titles, and images you add to business notes
  • Cash book entries: income and expense records with categories and notes
  • App settings and preferences: language, currency, security PIN, and notification preferences

All of this data is stored locally on your device. I do not upload, transmit, or store your business data on any external server.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Device information: When you create a data backup, the app includes your device manufacturer and model name in the backup file metadata. This is only used to identify the source device when restoring backups.
  • Ad-related data: The App uses Google AdMob to display ads. Google AdMob may collect certain device and usage data according to Google's own privacy policy. Please see Section 5 for more details.

1.3 Information I Do NOT Collect

  • I do not collect your location data
  • I do not access your contacts, call logs, or messages
  • I do not read your SMS messages
  • I do not monitor your browsing history
  • I do not collect any personal data for analytics or marketing purposes
  • I do not use any third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase Analytics, no Facebook SDK, etc.)

2. How I Use Your Information

The information you enter in the App is used only to provide the core features you expect:

  • Displaying your business records: showing transaction histories, customer balances, cash flow summaries, and accounting dashboards
  • Generating reports: creating CSV exports, PDF notes, and backup files when you request them
  • Sending reminders: when you choose to send a payment reminder to a customer, the App opens your phone's SMS or messaging app with a pre-filled message. The App does not send messages on its own
  • Security features: your PIN is stored as a one-way SHA-256 hash on your device. I cannot see or recover your PIN
  • Multi-language support: when you select a language other than English or Bengali, the app connects to Google Translate to download translations. These translations are cached locally for offline use. Only the app's UI text is sent for translation; never your business data
  • Displaying ads: Google AdMob is used to show advertisements. This is the only network feature that runs automatically

3. Data Storage & Security

3.1 Local Storage

All your business data: customers, transactions, products, staff, notes, cash entries, and settings: is stored in a local SQLite database on your Android device. Your data never leaves your phone unless you explicitly choose to export or share it.

3.2 Backup Files

When you create a backup (.dbr file), the app packages your entire database, preferences, and images into a single encrypted ZIP archive saved to your Downloads folder. You control where this file goes; it stays on your device unless you manually share it.

3.3 Security Measures

  • PIN codes are hashed using SHA-256 before storage (I never store plain-text PINs)
  • Biometric authentication (fingerprint/face) uses Android's built-in BiometricPrompt API
  • Failed PIN attempts trigger a 1-hour lockout after 5 wrong tries
  • You can lock individual sections of the app independently
  • Security questions allow PIN recovery without data loss

3.4 Image Storage

Profile photos, product images, and note images are saved in the app's private internal storage directory. These images are only accessible to the Daily Accounting app and are not visible to other apps or file managers.

4. Permissions I Use

Daily Accounting requests only the minimum permissions needed to function properly:

  • INTERNET — Required for Google AdMob ads and for downloading language translations

The app also supports fingerprint lock to protect your data. This feature uses Android's built-in biometric system, so no additional permissions are required from your side.

I do not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, location, storage, phone state, or any other sensitive permissions.

Note about images: When you add a profile photo, product image, or note image, the App uses Android's built-in image picker. This does not require any special permissions on modern Android versions (Android 10+). The selected images are copied to the app's private storage.

5. Third-Party Services

5.1 Google AdMob

The App uses Google AdMob to display banner advertisements. Google AdMob may collect device identifiers, IP address, and ad interaction data to serve relevant ads. This data collection is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

5.2 Google Translate API

When you select a language other than English or Bengali, the app uses Google Translate's free API to translate the app's user interface. Only the app's built-in UI strings are sent for translation. Your personal business data is never sent to Google Translate or any other external service.

5.3 Google Play In-App Updates

The App uses Google Play's In-App Updates library to notify you when a newer version is available. This only checks version information through the Google Play Store; no personal data is shared.

6. Data Sharing

I do not sell, rent, trade, or share your personal or business data with anyone.

The only ways your data leaves your device:

  • When you export data: If you create a CSV export, PDF note, backup file, or reminder image, the file is saved to your device. You decide if and how to share it.
  • When you send a reminder: If you tap the SMS, WhatsApp, or Share button for a customer reminder, the App opens the respective messaging app with a pre-filled message. You confirm the send; the App does not send anything automatically.

7. Children's Privacy

Daily Accounting is a business management tool designed for adult users. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

  • Your data remains on your device for as long as you choose to keep it
  • You can delete individual records at any time. Deleted items go to the Recycle Bin first, giving you a chance to restore them
  • You can permanently delete items from the Recycle Bin whenever you want
  • Uninstalling the App will permanently delete all app data from your device
  • Backup files (.dbr) saved to your Downloads folder will remain on your device even after uninstalling the App; you'll need to delete them manually if desired

9. Your Rights

You have full control over your data at all times:

  • Access — You can view all your data within the App at any time
  • Export — You can export your data as CSV files, PDF documents, or complete backup files
  • Edit — You can modify any record at any time
  • Delete — You can delete any record at any time
  • Portability — You can transfer your entire data to another device using the .dbr backup/restore feature

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App or applicable laws. When I make changes, I will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page.
